Kannada film Photo, directed by Utsav Gonwar, is garnering immense support from talented actors like Prakash Raj. The intriguing concept of the film seems to have struck a chord among celebrities who have come forward to praise it. Generating buzz among the masses, “Photo” is now gearing up for its release on March 15. The makers of the film recently unveiled the trailer at an event attended by Prakash Raj, Dolly Dhananjay and Pawan Kumar.
At the trailer launch event, Prakash Raj expressed being speechless for 15-20 minutes after watching the film. The actor mentioned feeling saddened by the depiction of tragic events during the lockdown portrayed in the film. Heaped with praises for director Utsav Gonwar, the Singham actor acknowledged the director’s efforts in depicting societal conditions, stating it’s commendable to see such dedication. Additionally, he emphasised how focusing on others’ problems can sometimes make us forget our own.
While Prakash Raj presented the film, Dolly Dhananjay, a prominent figure in the Kannada industry, unveiled the trailer. He praised the work of young directors, expressing his excitement to watch the film. Similarly, Pawan Kumar, known for his film Lucia, shared that he found the movie touching after having watched it.
Photo was previously screened at the Bangalore International Film Festival last year, receiving a warm response and being honoured as the second-best Kannada film. The film was also showcased at prestigious events such as the FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) in Pune, the Habitat Film Festival in Delhi and the NITTE International Film Festival in Mangalore.
Utsav Gonwar’s directorial revolves around the poignant journey of a father and son, compelled to reunite while returning home from Bengaluru city. The film boasts a talented cast including Mahadev Hadapad, Sandhya Arakere, Jahangeer and Veeresh Gonwar, with Utsav Gonwar and Fakirappa Bandiwad as producers under the banner of Masari Talkies.
