People in Bengaluru were caught off guard by the sudden downpour on Sunday evening, which continued close to Monday morning. The impact of the rain was such that traffic remained slowing moving till late on Tuesday morning.
The Manyata Tech Park area near Hebbal experienced major waterlogging, which put employees in a fix on Monday morning. The KR Puram area received heavy rainfall from Sunday evening into the night.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert in some of the districts of the south interior Karnataka for the next three days. The IMD has predicted heavy rains in Kodagu, Mandya and Chamarajanagara for three days and has alerted the respective district administrations to take precautionary measures.

In South Bengaluru, rain persisted on Sunday night, causing traffic jams on Bannerghatta Road and Kanakapura Road. Furthermore, strong winds uprooted a few trees in the city, but they were promptly cleared away.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru city recorded an average of 2cm to 3cm of rainfall between 5pm and 8pm.
BBMP authorities have verified reports of significant waterlogging near Manyata Tech Park and on Bannerghatta Road. They have dispatched a team to address the waterlogged areas at Thanisandra bridge.
In a post on social media site X, Bengaluru’s DCP South (traffic) said: “Water logging in roppena Agrahara ,Madivala traffic ps limits, timely intervention by police by pumping out water restored the traffic almost immediately ,Good work by @acpsetraffic, @madivalatrfps, @Jointcptraffic, @CPBlr, @DgpKarnataka important road which connects ecity flyover.”
