Shanmukh Jaswanth, former contestant on Bigg Boss Telugu, YouTuber, and actor, faces legal issues as ganja was reportedly discovered at his Hyderabad residence, leading to his arrest. Additionally, his brother Sampath Vinay is accused of deceiving a woman whom he dated for years and became engaged to, only to marry another woman a week before their scheduled wedding. The aggrieved woman filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Police, alleging cheating by Sampath and claiming that Shanmukh’s parents urged her to move on, knowing he was now married to someone else.
According to reports, on Wednesday evening, police visited Shanmukh’s residence in Hyderabad to arrest his brother. Although his brother was not present, Shanmukh was found with ganja and subsequently arrested. The police filed separate cases against both brothers and investigations are ongoing.
RTV disclosed specifics of the complaint, wherein the ex-fiance expressed initial hesitance about the relationship but was persuaded by Shanmukh to date his brother. Additionally, she claimed that a constable named Javed pressured her to withdraw the case.
In 2021, Shanmukh faced legal trouble when he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Hyderabad. The incident happened when he collided with his car with three parked cars and two bikes. His blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was recorded at 170 mg/100 ml. Following his arrest, he appeared in court and was directed to attend counselling at the traffic training institute. However, The Indian Express reported that Shanmukh allegedly tried to influence the police and skipped a counselling session before his sentencing.
Shanmukh rose to prominence with his role in the short film Viva, directed by Sabarish Kandregula and his brother. The film also brought fame to actor Harsha Chemudu. Additionally, Shanmukh was romantically involved with YouTuber and actor Deepthi Sunaina, collaborating on several music videos. However, their relationship ended after Shanmukh participated in the fifth season of Bigg Boss Telugu in 2021, where he emerged as the runner-up. Subsequently, in 2022, he starred as the lead in the Aha web series Agent Anand Santhosh.
