New Delhi: Kingfisher Airlines pilots have agreed to the management's offer of three months' salary by Diwali, according to sources. This came after the management's meeting with the pilots on Thursday.
However, they have demanded that the salaries for March be paid within 24 hours. The rest have to be paid within the next two weeks before Diwali.
The Kingfisher Airlines management will also hold talks with engineers on Thursday evening. Sources say the engineering staff in Delhi wants to accept the management offer, but a majority of other staff members are opposed to the idea.
Meanwhile, a section of employees say that if their demands aren't met, they will protest against Chairman Vijay Mallya at the Buddh International Circuit, the venue for the Indian Grand Prix in which Mallya's formula 1 team Force One is competing. UB group sources have confirmed that Mallya will be present in person.
Kingfisher Airlines employees had on Wednesday rejected the management's fresh offer and demanded payment of four months' backlog in lumpsum before Friday. "The chief executive's (Sanjay Aggarwal) claim is grossly incorrect. As a matter of fact, as many as 90 per cent of the employees have outrightly rejected the offer. We adhere to our demand for payment of four months' salary by October 26," airline employee Subhash Chandra Mishra, who is spearheading the agitation in Delhi, said.
