The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has disclosed the scores and other details of non-qualified candidates who appeared for the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) – I, 2023. This move, in line with the Government of India’s commitment to transparency, aims to provide potential employers with a transparent database, facilitating the identification of skilled candidates.

Non-qualified candidates can check their CDS-I scores by visiting the UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. They should go to the “Public Disclosure” section, find the link for CDS Exam 1 scores, and download their scores from there.

The UPSC has introduced a Disclosure Scheme to enable the public release of scores and other pertinent information of candidates who participated in the final stage of the examination but did not qualify, including the SSB (Service Selection Board) Interview. This disclosed information is currently accessible on the Commission’s official website.

The final results for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA) courses were declared on October 27, 2023, while the results for Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) courses, for both men and women were declared on January 24, 2024.

Candidates who opted for disclosure under this scheme will have their scores presented in a PDF format. For IMA, INA & AFA, the scores will be out of a total of 600 marks, while for OTA candidates, it will be out of 400 marks. It’s worth noting that this information will be available for one year from the disclosure date.

However, the UPSC has cautioned that other private or public organisations must use this information responsibly. “Besides sharing of the above information of non-qualified candidates of the Combined Defence Services Examination-(I), 2023 conducted by the Commission, the Commission assumes no further responsibility or liability for the method and manner in which the above information related to candidates, is utilized by other private or public organizations,” reads the official notification.

Based on the UPSC CDS 1 result of 2023, 105 candidates have been recommended for the Officers Training Academy (OTA) for women, while 242 candidates have secured recommendations for OTA (men). Additionally, 22 candidates received recommendations for the Indian Air Force and 57 for the Indian Naval Academy.
