If you reside in Bihar’s Darbhanga district and need access to a UDID (Unique Disability Identity) card, then this piece of news is for you. Camps are being organised by the government in five blocks of Darbhanga district, and you can get your UDID card by visiting these camps.
The disability certificate has undergone some modifications from the government. Offline disability certificates will no longer be accepted after April 1, 2021. Validity has been limited to online certified disability certificates. The 2021 census indicates that there are 70,465 disabled individuals in the Darbhanga district. which has 54,407 officially recognised disabled individuals. 14,905 of those with disabilities have had their UDID cards created.
DM Rajiv Roshan has mentioned the dates and locations of these special camps. The camps will be held between February 28 to March 12 and will include Hanumannagar, Alinagar, Kiratpur and Kusheshwar Sthan blocks. If you belong to the Divyang (disabled) category, visit the camp that matches your vicinity and the officials will help you get the UDID card.
According to DM Rajeev Roshan, camps will be held on February 28 and 29 at the Hanuman Nagar Block Office Complex, on March 1 at the Alinagar Block Office Complex, on March 4 and 5 at Gaudaboram, and on March 6 and 7 at the Kitarpur Block Health Centre. Additionally, on March 11 and 12, a special camp will be held on the Kusheshwar Place Block Office premises.
Launched in 2017, the UDID project by the Government of India aims to provide a Unique Identity to each Divyang (person with disabilities) in the country, creating a comprehensive database for strategic welfare planning. The UDID card has been associated with several programmes including free clinical services, education in National Institutes and CRCs, skill training, verification of scholarship applications, recipients of DDRS, National Trust insurance plans (Niramaya) and RCI-regulated institutions.
