About 19 lakh candidates will be appearing for the fifth phase of round one of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) exams held by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). A total of 1.26 crore candidates had applied for 35,208 posts offered under RRB NTPC recruitment. The exam, hence, is taking place in phases. This is the fifth phase of the tier-I exam or CBT 1 of NTPC. Candidates appearing for the exam need to follow these rules before entering the exam hall-
Admit card: Candidates need to download admit card or hall ticket from the official website. For each exam, the admit card is released about four days ahead of the exam. Candidates will be able to get the admit card from their regional RRB website. It is mandatory for candidates to carry their admit cards along with them to exam hall for verification purposes.
COVID precautions: Candidates have to wear masks and carry their own sanitisers to the exam halls. They also will have to maintain social distancing and hygiene practices inside and around the campus, as per rules. “Candidates will be allowed entry only if wearing a Face Mask and the Face mask shall be worn at all times. (except at the time of capturing photograph),” as per the official notice.
Banned items: Candidates will not be allowed to take any electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, pager, watches, bluetooth-enabled devices, calculators, metallic wears, bangles, belts, bracelets etc to the exam halls. Those carrying such things will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
Home quarantine rule waived-off: For this phase, many candidates from near-by states were allotted exam centers in Odisha. The Ministry of health has waived-off the seven-day home quarantine rule for these candidates. However, to be eligible for the relaxation, candidates need to show their admit card and practice ‘COVID-appropriate behaviour’.
Those who clear the CBT-1 level exams will be shortlisted for the further rounds.
