Capello has given England belief: Lampard
Lampard feels that the Italian has transformed the team's fortunes, with an outstanding run of form during the World Cup qualifiers.

London: Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says that national manager Fabio Capello had restored belief in the England team when players went through a spell in which they were not gelling as a team.

The failure to qualify for Euro 2008 under Steve McClaren led to Capello's appointment, and Lamprad feels that the Italian has transformed the team's fortunes, with an outstanding run of form during the World Cup qualifiers and has raised hopes for success at the tournament in South Africa.

"We are going into this World Cup with a very good mindset, especially when you compare where we are to where we were. There was a time when we played for England when we didn't believe we could beat anybody, almost. Now there is a real belief when we run out on to the pitch," Lampard was quoted as sayibg by the Daily Mirror.

Lampard feels that Capello's input has been key.

"We were a group of individuals who were not doing what we were capable of doing but he brought us into line from the start," Lampard said.
