Skanda: The Attacker, directed by Boyapati Srinu, hit the big screens on September 28 and received mixed to poor reviews. Critics opined that there is nothing novel in the film that can entertain the audience. The film had a good run at the box office in the Telugu states on the first day of release, despite the tepid reviews. According to a report published in Sacnilk.com, Skanda earned Rs 5.05 crore on the second day in India in its box-office run. A report published in Hindustan Times Telugu has pointed out that the net India collection of this film is Rs 7 crore on the second day. According to the reports, this film has made a collection of Rs 8.62 crore in the Telugu states. Skanda had earned Rs 18.2 crore worldwide on its opening day. Skanda revolves around AP CM Rayudu (Ajay Purkar) and TS CM Ranjith Reddy (Sharath Lohitashwa), who used to be best friends, till their children decided to elope together. Rudrakanti Ramakrishna Raju (Meka Srikanth) is a tycoon, who has just confessed to crimes he didn’t commit. It’s a way to ensure that his daughter Parineeta (Saiee Manjrekar) remains secure. There is also a student in this film (Ram Pothineni) who is in love with his classmate (Sreeleela) but doesn’t know about her. How all these people cross paths forms the premise of the story. Srinivasaa Silver Screen and Zee Studios have backed this film.

The cast of Skanda organised a party to celebrate the success of the film. News Buzz has shared a clip of it on YouTube. The majority of the cast members were present at the party, except actress Sreeleela who played the female lead. The reasons behind her absence are yet to be known.

Talking about Sreeleela, there are reports that she will soon be taking a sabbatical from the film industry. According to the reports, she is currently engaged in pursuing a degree in medicine (MBBS). Reportedly, she is on the verge of completing her studies this year and will prepare for her final examinations during the break.
