BHUBANESWAR: Two fire fighters were injured when a cooking gas cylinder exploded during a fire that broke out in Sabar Sahi slums near Unit VI area on Wednesday evening.The firemen were later declared out of danger. The fire, however, reduced to ashes at least 16 houses and property estimated at Rs 5 lakh.According to Fire Officer BB Das, the fire was reported at around 7.25 pm and four tenders were rushed to the slum to douse the flames that had spread from the kitchen of one Rabindra Acharya. Even as the firemen were busy putting out the flames which were engulfing one house after another, an LPG cylinder exploded. It hit two of the fire fighters who were immediately rushed to the Capital Hospital.The locals also helped the firemen bring the flames under control.
