CHENNAI: The Joy of Giving week campaign by Courtyard by Marriott came to an end in style with a gala fundraising concert on Friday. Socialites and party hoppers in the city had gathered to witness the scintillating performances by Benny Dayal and his band — Subject to Change, while gorging on exquisite dishes from the special Italian Menu. The other members of the band were singers Anjana Raghavan, Anisha Verghese, Aakash Jacob and Tony Joseph. Some of the songs that enthralled the gathering were by Sixth Avenue Blues and Subject to Change, besides a couple of Tamil movie songs such as Taxi Taxi from Sakkarakatti and Oorvasi Oorvasi from Kaadhalan. The proceeds from the dinner will go to Rising Star Outreach located in Kanchipuram District for the underprivileged children. The Joy of Giving campaign is to inspire all Indians across every state, city, region, class, community, religion and age to donate in whichever way they choose to and celebrate the giving.
