KOCHI: Thapovarishtashramam Matadhipathy Sri Thadhathan will arrive here on Sunday as part of his mission of spreading the message of universal peace.The Palakkad-based Thapovarishtashramam established by the followers of Sri Thadhathan has been engaged in enlightening the people on the dharmic principles of life enunciated in the Vedas.Sri Thadhathan will deliver at 6 pm the Universal Peace message at a function being organised at the Gowri Kalyana Mantapam near the Ernakulam Siva Temple on Sunday. It will be followed by prayer for universal peace and the recital of the Santhi Manthram.R K Damodaran will introduce the subject at the meeting which will be inaugurated by Justice K T Sankaran at 5 pm. Hibi Eden MLA will preside over the function. Justice V R Krishna Iyer will grace the auspicious occasion with his presence.Kochi Corporation Mayor Tony Chammini is the chief guest. Viswa Hindu Parishad all-India vice-president K V Madanan, Hindu Aikya Vedi state general secretary Kummanam Rajasekharan, writer and critic M K Sanu, poet S Ramesan Nair, Maithreyi Amma and C G Rajagopal (Muthu) will offer felicitations.Thadhathan was born in the Vandithavalam village in Palakkad in 1942. His parents had named him as Narayanan. After the demise of his mother during his childhood days, Narayanan was advised by a Siddhan to surrender himself at the feet of the Universal Mother and get solace and peace. Narayanan then began the Sakthi Upasana.He left his house at the age of 18 and undertook a tour of the various religiously significant places across the country. During these journeys he learnt Hatayoga, Rajayoga and various Sadhanas and Upasanas under the Siddha and the Thanthra streams in his efforts to realise the Supreme Brahman.He assumed the name of Thadhathan preparatory to the enunciation of his dharmic messages as Dharma Soothras on January 21, 1991 at Saranath. Later he established the Dharma Peetom near the Mookambika Temple at Kollur in Karnataka.Thadhathan is giving training to all his disciples in the Vaidika tradition with Sandhya Vandanam, Veda Manthra recitals, Poojas and meditation to sow the seeds of universal brotherhood and peace.Sri Thadhathan exhorts the devotees who gather at the Thapovarishatasramam every month for Santsang to tread the path of a Dharmic life. The Ashramam also conducts homams and yagnas in the Vaidika tradition. It organised the Dharmasooya Mahayagam in 1999, 2002 and 2009 which were attended by lakhs of devotees from across the world.A Viswa Shanthy Yagnam is being conducted at the Ashramam every year from 2009.The disciples of the Swamiji in 23 countries are also following his teachings and conducting collective prayer sessions and Satsangs for for universal brotherhood and peace for all.
