It seems that accidents at railway crossings will never be a forgotten chapter. On Wednesday, a man was run over by a speeding train at the Pachalam level crossing at 11 am. The body of the man, who appears to be nearly 60, is yet to be identified. According to Antony Puthoor, resident of Pachalam, this incident is not the first as more than two persons have died at the level crossings in the recent months. “ We have been demanding to set up an RoB for years. However, the authorities continue to turn a blind eye to such serious incidents.” he said.
Meanwhile, the level crossing at Vaduthala continues to be closed down after a vehicle hit it on Tuesday. “The work is in progress and the gate will be opened soon,” said railway officials.
