Another Odissi treat for connoisseurs from 8th

BHUBANESWAR: After a series of dance and music festivals last year, the Culture Department has more in store for the cognoscenti of the State this month. The three-day Odissi Music Festival __ a new addition to the State’s cultural calendar this year __ would get off at Jayadev Bhawan on Sunday.  Several veterans in the fields of Odissi dance and music like Rakhal Chandra Mohanty, Ramesh Das, Jabahar Mishra, Ramhari Das, Bijay Kumar Jena, Shyamamani Devi, Nimakanta Routray, Sukanta Kumar Kundu, Minati Bhanja, Dheeraj Mohapatra, Gopal Chandra Panda, Himanshu Sekhar Swain, Mitali Chinara, Keshab Chandra Rout and Nazia Alam would perform.  The event is being jointly organised with the Odissi Research Centre.  The music festival will be followed by Mukteswar Dance Festival on the Mukteswar-Parsurameswar temple complex from January 14 to 16.
