New Delhi: The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple, who never participates in Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the biggest technology-related trade show, has been reportedly planning an event to be held in New York City (NYC) this month, reports AllThingsD, a tech based news website. The event is expected to focus on a media-related announcement.
The report also said that most probably the event has nothing to do with the rumoured iPad 3 or Apple TV. "While the company is expected to launch a new Apple TV product later in 2012, such an event would almost certainly be held in the heart of the industry in Hollywood or at least in Silicon Valley," said the report adding, "several sources underscored that the event is not related to an upcoming version of the iPad 3."
Reportedly, Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue is also involved. Cue is responsible for a chunk of Apple's media units including the App Store, iBookstore, iTunes Store and iCloud.
Since Cue is involved, the event might be related to some kind of advertising or even publishing announcement, said reports.
