Hyderabad: Six people were killed and many trapped after the roof of a coalmine in Andhra Pradesh caved in on Sunday.
Sources in the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Ltd at Kothagudem in Khammam district, about 300 km from Hyderabad, said the dead include an employee of an Australian company responsible for maintenance works.

The leaders of employees' unions have demanded better safety measures and compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the kin of those killed.
