ATM theft: Engineering student held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth was held by the Railway Police while trying to steal money from an ATM counter in front of the Central Railway Station here on Wednesday.Vinod, 21, of Thyvilakam, near Vettucaud, is an engineering student who used to steal money from others’ accounts. He stole money immediately after somebody withdrew it from their account, while the transaction remained live for 15 seconds, if not cancelled. He was arrested while trying a similar operation at the SBT ATM counter near the Central Railway Station.Earlier also Vinod, hailing from an affluent family, had done such operations and the cops were looking to trap him from here based on a tip-off.
