BHUBANESWAR: With the Biju Janata Dal set to form councils in 26 out of 30 districts, the ruling party has grabbed a whopping 651 Zilla Parishad seats, the latest estimate by State Election Commission said on Thursday. There are 854 ZP constituencies and elections were held for 851 seats. As per the updated result, the BJD has bagged 651 seats followed by Congress with 128 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party stands virtually wiped out with a mere 36 seats, while CPI has two and CPM one. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has bagged 11 while Independents have got 22 seats.
