Bomb scare at Wipro complex

Kolkata: A bomb scare at the Wipro complex in the Salt Lake IT hub caused a flutter on Thursday evening but no explosive was found.

Police said an anonymous call around 1700 hrs IST led to panic in the sprawling complex and the entire building was emptied.

A combat squad of West Bengal Police arrived at the spot with sniffer dogs and bomb disposal equipment but nothing was found. The entire area was cordoned off.

Inspector General Surajit Purakayastha said, "Most of the premises was searched but nothing was found. There is nothing to worry, our men are there."
