HYDERABAD: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Botcha Satyanarayana has urged the state government to announce Rs 200 per quintal as bonus if the Centre does not increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy to Rs 1,200 from Rs 1,080. The PCC chief is hopeful that chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will take a positive decision in this regard after discussing the matter at the Cabinet meeting.The Andhra Pradesh Kisan Congress Cell organised a brainstorming session on Friday to prepare a document for implementation of election promises made by the party in its manifesto in 2009.Addressing the meeting, the PCC chief said the Congress was in power both at the Centre and in the state because of its farmer-friendly policies.The Congress government was committed to implementing all its poll promises. If it was not able to implement any assurance, the party would convince the people by explaining its stand, he said.
