An advance team from the US is scheduled to be in Delhi on Friday to finalise the itinerary.

New Delhi: While the final itinerary for his visit is not yet clear, a rough draft of US President Barack Obama's upcoming visit to India has been cleared. The US President is likely to visit India from the January 25 to the January 27.

An advance team from the US is scheduled to be in Delhi on Friday to finalise the itinerary. According to the tentative itinerary, the presidential banquet will be held on the January 25 and Obama will join President's "at home" on January 26 in the evening after the Republic Day parade.

The main features of President Obama's visit also include taking part in a CEO roundtable along with PM Narendra Modi as well as a townhall in a Delhi college. Bilateral talks are scheduled to take place on January 25. The agenda for the talks is still being negotiated.

Apart from work, Obama is also scheduled to visit Agra with his wife Michelle on the January 27. However, his much speculated visit to Modi's Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi has been put off due to security concerns.
