Childless couples to form association

KOZHIKODE: Childless couples are all set to form an association for themselves. On December 10, a group of couples will assemble at the Indoor Stadium here in this regard, said P Kunjali Haji at a press conference here on Thursday.“A get-together of couples was held on November 21 in Mukkam. We have got a tremendous response and thus evolved the idea of forming such an organisation. The meeting will discuss various problems faced by childless couples in society,” he added.The group demands that the government should initiate a survey among childless couples and publish a comprehensive report, allocate funds for their welfare and take stringent action against fertility clinics which are exploiting them.Other demands include assistance for treatment, insurance cover, amendments in adoption law, constitution of pension scheme and setting up of an advanced fertility clinic.
