Clerk stabs Principal for payment delay

The principal of Chaitanya College at BN Reddy Nagar was stabbed by a clerk of the college with a knife at Vanasthalipuram here on Thursday.

Police suspect delay in payment of promised sum as the reason behind the attack. According to police, principal N Prahlad had allegedly made some promises of ‘benefits’ to the accused, Ch Sashidhar if he strived for the ‘development’ of the college.

It has been speculated by the Police that Prahlad wanted Sashidhar to bring in more students for admissions, promising him of his commission. However, Prahlad failed to keep his promise.

Around 10 am on Thursday, Sashidhar told the victim that he would introduce some students who had secured good ranks and were interested to join their college.Accordingly, Sashidhar took the students, along with Prahlad, in the principal’s car. However, on reaching Bandlaguda, Sashidhar asked Prahlad to halt the car.

He got down from the car and suddenly threw chili powder on Prahlad’s eyes and then stabbed him with a knife, Vanasthalipuram police said.

Locals noticed that the principal was lying on the ground in a pool of blood and alerted the 108 emergency medical service while also informing the police, who shifted him to a nearby hospital. The victim’s condition is said to be critical whereas the accused is absconding.
