BANGALORE: UVCE’s annual fest, the Milagro festival which started a month ago with a variety of sports events included both indoor and outdoor sports and a carnival of events wherein there was place for everyone to participate and showcase their talent and prove their mettle in various genres. As part of the lead up activity to Milagro, Eco club had organised a campus cleaning drive. The drive witnessed hundreds of enthusiastic students joining hands to make the campus clean and green.The festivity gathered momentum with a plethora of activities being conducted throughout the second day, both on stage and off stage. Kalarava, a Kannada event was a crowd puller. Anthakshari was a great success among the participants and the crowd. teams managed to churn out great deal of laughter from the crowd. Solo dance performance by light footed dancers from various colleges in the state kept the crowd on their toes while Rock Show brought a sensational climax to the events.The three-day inter-collegiate cultural festival, Milagro-12 was inaugurated by R V Venkatesh, Chief Whip Legislative cou ncil at University Visves varaya College of Enginee ring(UVCE). On this occasion, Venkatesh emphasised the necessity for integrating cultural activities into the academic curriculum. Prakash K Rathod, erstwhile state Ranji player said that the college is gifted with a beautiful environment and talented students. It brought back vivid memories of yesteryears when he was coming to college to meet his cricket friends, he added.Dr Venugopal K R, principal of UVCE in his presidential remarks, said that with the cultural diversity and abundant talent of the young demographic profile, the country is poised to leap to the centre-stage of the world in the coming decades. A sound body in sound mind helps the students to achieve the best in their career,he remarked. Well known Kannada film actor, Upendra, enthralled the crowd with his captivating movie dialogues and songs.
