Condition of Sukumar Azhikode worsens

THRISSUR: The condition of veteran scholar and orator Prof Sukumar Azhikode, who has been admitted to the Amala Hospital here since December 9, 2011, has worsened overnight, a medical bulletin said on Sunday.With his health deteriorating during the past one month, he has been put under life-supporting system in the intensive care unit. There was a sudden drop in his blood pressure on Sunday morning, prompting the hospital authorities to move him to the ICU. Doctors said his condition has been worsening steadily.People from all walks of life, including  Chief  Minister Oommen Chandy, visited him on Sunday.
