Corporation banks founder branch now a museum

UDUPI: Chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank Ramnath Pradeep visited the bank’s Heritage Museum set up recently at its founder branch.Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Ramnath Pradeep expressed the bank’s commitment to develop the museum by housing many more objects with respect to financial heritage.He said: “Presently we have a collection of numismatics and philately on display at the museum.Apart from that, we have a collection of currency notes signed by different Governors.RBI has supported our initiative by providing us with the replicas of heritage currencies.” This is a small tribute to Khan Bahadur Haji Abdulla, the founder of the branch, whose vision benefited the employees and the society.It is just a beginning, we will acquire coins and currencies of the missing times.We have already held talks with Rajanikanth Shah, a collector from Mumbai, he added.Some of the collectors have also volunteered to give their collection to the museum.Bank executive director Ashwin Kumar, Deputy General Manager C K Gopal and others were present.
