Noida: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched 'Stand Up India' scheme in Noida. The scheme will offer loans in the range of Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 100 lakh. This initiative will promote entrepreneurship among women, SC and ST communities.
Highlighting the vision of this initiative, Prime Minister said, "Dalits and poor people if given an opportunity can bring in various reforms in the country. This is the vision for Stand up India."
Paying tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram, leader of the Dalit community on his birth anniversary, Modi said, "Babu did a lot to usher the green revolution."
Modi also pushed the need of initiatives such as "Stand up India". "Stand up India" aims to empower every Indian and enable them to stand on their own feet. The job seeker has to become a job creator."
"There is a huge difference between MUDRA scheme and 'Stand Up India' initiative. This scheme will encourage loans to Dalits and women 1.25 lakh banks will loan money to 1.25 lakh young people from marginalised communities. This scheme is going to transfer the lives of people from Dalit and tribal communities", Modi added.
