Satish Kumar was reunited with his wife, allegedly confined by her parents, after the Delhi HC intervened.

New Delhi: It seems like a reel life story playing out in real life for a call centre couple, courtesy the Delhi High Court.

A call centre executive, Satish Kumar was reunited with his wife, Preeti Saxena and allowed the couple to finally live together.

Preeti had been allegedly confined by her parents, who were opposed to the couples marriage. But the intervention of the Delhi High Court sorted the matter on Monday.

A Bench of Justices Manmohan Sarin and S L Bhayana allowed Satish, an executive with ICICI Bank call centre, and Preeti to live together.

The Bench passed the order after holding a chamber discussion with Satish and Preeti. Preeti was produced before the bench by the Delhi police earlier.

Satish had filed a petition accusing his in-laws for illegally detaining Preeti since December 12, 2006.

In the petition, Satish had said that he and Preeti had been colleagues in a call centre and got married against the wishes of his in-laws on December 4, 2006.

His in-laws called Preeti to home under the pretext that they have accepted the alliance and the marriage will be again held according to Hindu rituals.

But Satish alleged that his in-laws did not fulfill their promise and illegally confined Preeti when she went to meet her parents at their home in North Delhi.
