Delhi Metro sues agency for fake jobs
Delhi Metro clarified that it has not authorised anyone to carry out recruitment on its behalf.

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro has filed a police complaint against an agency which allegedly advertised 2,000 jobs in the capital's metro rail service, officials on Sunday said. Delhi Police have been asked to crack down on such agencies that dupe job aspirants.

Several measures have been adopted to prevent fake recruitment agencies from duping innocent job seekers in the name of granting them employment in Delhi Metro, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a statement.

"Taking strong action against a recent advertisement in Uttarakhand Rozgar Darshan where a fake agency with the name DMRC Placement Services had advertised for 2,050 posts in Delhi Metro, DMRC has written to the Kotla Mubarakpur police station requesting to file an FIR as the address of this fake agency in the advertisement was 'DSIDC Complex, Bapu Park, Kotla Mubarakpur'," Delhi Metro spokesperson Anuj Dayal said.

Delhi Metro will also write to the newspaper Uttarakhand Rozgar Darshan to guard against such fraudulent practices. Dayal said the DMRC has brought out public notices in the city's leading newspapers to create awareness among the public about such fake advertisements.

"We have written to the joint commissioner of police (crime), urging him to crack down on such fake agencies which are duping people of thousands of rupees with the promise of providing them jobs in DMRC. There are some agencies, which are even issuing fake appointment letters in exchange of huge amounts," Dayal said.

Delhi Metro clarified that it has not authorised any individual or firm to carry out recruitment on its behalf.

All DMRC job openings are advertised in newspapers by the Delhi Metro and also put up on the website www.delhimetrorail.com.
