New Delhi Delhi's Sardar Patel School has shut down its nursery wing after the outbreak of a mysterious disease afflicting the mouth, hands and feet of students. The nursery wing has been shut down till October 16 as a precautionary measure.
The school has also advised the parents to get their wards medically examined for symptoms of the disease. According to doctors 40 students have been found to be suffering form the mouth, hands and feet disease.
Doctors say the disease is highly contagious and its symptoms should not be ignored. Children between 3 and 8 years are most susceptible to the disease which is caused by intestinal virus and occurs mostly during the monsoon season.
They also point out that till now there is no vaccine for the disease.
Early symptoms of the disease are white and red rashes on hands, face and leg infection in throat, rashes on face and lips just after fever, loss of appetite and fatigue.
If the symptoms are not treated on time, then it can be dangerous for the children.
