THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In An Emergency (InE) service, developed and designed to ensure the safety and security of the public, has been implemented in Easwaravilasam Residents’ Association area.Transport Minister V S Sivakumar inaugurated the initiative. The main feature of the system is that one can avail help from a dedicated security personnel or alert for emergency help from friends or others in an emergency by simply dialling number pad ‘2’ on his/her mobile phone.The mobile will send alert messages to preset numbers and a security officer of InE will also rush to the location to provide help. The alert message will also be sent to the police control room or the nearby police station.The City Police have extended full support to this security system as part of its Janamaithry neighbourhood protection scheme. The mobile phone-based technology service has been developed by Eram Scientific Solutions, a company which successfully introduced e-toilets in India. Security officers are available within five minutes from 6 pm to 6 am.
