CHENNAI: As part of the Eweek Celebrations 2012, LemonIvy, the entrepreneurship cell of Vellammal, organised e-Awards to highlight the significance of entrepreneurship. LemonIvy has partnered with NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network ) to expose entrepreneurial aspirants to the world of start-ups, ventures, networks and much more. The E-awards are given to honour and recognise entrepreneurs and also to motivate upcoming ones.Over 500 students attended the event and were inspired by the success stories of the awardees.A book ‘500 Definitions of Entrepreneurship’ was launched on the college premises. The book is a collection of several definitions of entrepreneurship as viewed by realtime entrepreneurs from various strata of society.According to the organisers, entrepreneurship is a fascinating subject and this effort by the members of Lemonivy is an effort to bring about a better understanding of the subject. The book is a treasure trove for entrepreneurs who require a little push and some motivation to achieve their goals in life. The awards for the Emerging Entrepreneur and the Prestigious Women Entrepreneur were given to P Suresh, Founder, Arun Excello and Nalini Olivannan, Principal Associate, Neil Law Associates, respectively.The award for the Most Successful Entrepreneur of the year was received by Abirami Ramanathan, CEO, Abirami Mega Mall.A J Sanjay, Founder, A J S Services, and Viswa Nath, CEO, Technoscripts Solutions, received the Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award for their respective companies. Finally, the award for the Social Entrepreneur of the Year was presented to AID India Organisation. The team of AID India Organisation comprises Jayaram, Venkatesan, Damodaran, Balaji, Sampath, Gomathi, Ravishankar and Radha. The award was given away by M V M VelMurugan, CEO, Velammal Engineering College.
