KOCHI: SCRIPT, the International competitive short film festival is back again at Kochi after a successful launch last year. The festival hosting an array of short films with social relevance is being organized by the Rotary Club of Cochin Metropolis.The festival will be free, both for the filmmakers and audiences. The last date for submission of films is 01 December 2011. The festival will be held at Fine Arts Hall, Kochi on 20,21 January 2012, culminating in a Grand awards ceremony where the Golden Halo Awards will be distributed. The last edition of SCRIPT saw some outstanding films beings screened at Kochi from famous directors and it also showcased movies from the Green Oscar winner Mike Pandey. This year the competition is open in five categories, viz. International, film makers, students, documentaries and mini/ad films with a social message. Duration is two minutes. All categories carry a first prize of Rs. 25,000 and a second prize of Rs. 15,000 with the Golden Halo awards. Actor Revathy will head a multi-member jury. The Muthoot Pappachan Group will be the principal partners for the event. The Public Service Broadcasting Trust and the Indian Documentary Producers Association have approved the film festival giving authenticity to it. The festival is also registered with the International Film & Festival Organisation.
