KOZHIKODE : Now, it's time for the masters of the Motor Vehicles Department to undergo some sort of behaviour therapy.
The Transport Commissioner has served an ethical road map to the motor vehicle inspectors and employees of the department to improve their behaviour with the public. The circular, which was issued last week, strictly directs the employees of the department, especially the motor vehicle inspectors, to behave politely and respectfully with the public and provide a clear and satisfying reply to their doubts and demands.

It also entrusts the officers who hold the charge of public relations to ensure that all employees strictly adhere to these instructions.

The order also directs all officers who have been given phone connections from the department to keep their mobile phones switched on all the time.

However, majority of the officers are yet to make it operational. Hence, officers are asked to make their mobile phones functional as it is badly affecting the functioning of the department," the circular says.

"In case of emergency situations, phone should be kept in silent mode instead of switching it off and should call back soon if there were any calls from senior officers.

Besides, the circular also briefs certain telephone etiquettes to impart effective communication skills among the employees.

What's your reaction?
