Maranello(Italy): As Italy celebrates Ferrari's 60th anniversary this year, CNN correspondent Alessio Vinci caught a ride with Michael Schumacher on Ferrari’s hometown racetrack trailed by hundreds of fans.
Ferrari fans from all over the world took time off to visit its place of birth.
Schumacher, the seven time formula one champion who retired last year after beating nearly every record in the business, shared his nostalgia.
In Schumacher’s opinion, words alone cannot describe the feeling of driving cars as Ferrari.
It is not just the power and speed, but there is something else as well that is the extra something.
“Usually the other teams have a group of fans, while we have a whole country,” says Schumacher.
The man behind Ferrari's success today is Luca Cordero Di Montezemlo.
With Schumacher, he brought home five consecutive world championships between 2000 and 2004.
The formula for their success was simple, rein in production to the point need became greater than supply and boost the luxury feel for the brand. And the formula worked for sure.
Today, Ferrari is a hit throughout the world, its popularity and success is evident.
At the core of the bond between Ferrari and its huge fan following is a passion for beauty, style and elegance.
Ferrari recognises and meets that perfection and that is why fans love it all the more.
Well, one thing is definitely for sure. Although Ferrari has completed 60 years, it is here to stay for long.
