KOCHI: Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) president R V Kanoria has said that the FICCI is ready to be a partner in ‘Emerging Kerala’, the investors’ meeting organised by the state government in September 2012.Speaking to Express on the sidelines of a function here on Wednesday, Kanoria said that, being one of the major business organisations in the country, the FICCI was committed to providing assistance to the industrial development of Kerala. “Business personalities from Kerala have been demanding enhancement of FICCI’s involvement in the industrial sector in the state,” he said. Kanoria, the first FICCI president to visit the state in a decade, held discussions with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in this regard on Wednesday. He said that Kerala was the first state he was visiting after assuming the office.“FICCI is ready to provide assistance to Kerala in utilising its intellectual and entrepreneurial talents,” Kanoria said. “Kerala has always held prime position among Indian states with its standards of living, per capita income and infrastructure that include four international airports of good quality,” he said.
