Choosing the fabric for the lampshade is the exciting part, as you can play with colours."All the lamps at my home are custom designed. My kid's room has colourful mushrooms as lamps with different hues of lighting. Practically any object can be hallowed and turned into a lamp. The most favourite lamp I've made till now is a huge glass bottle, filled with water. Bright green creepers and a few colourful tiny flowers have been put inside the bottle so that the stark green blends with the yellow fabric of the lampshade," says Sindhu Muralidhar, an interior designer.Today, lamps can be turned on and off with a snap of your fingers as they have installed motion and sound detectors. But there's nothing like a simple lantern lit by a flickering flame.
