Delhi Police recently uncovered a shocking secret involving a foreign woman who had become the centre of high-profile parties in Delhi-NCR. Known for fulfilling exclusive requests at these high-profile gatherings, the woman, Faith Rachel, was reported to be making substantial sums of money from each party. This alarming trend caught the attention of the Delhi Police Special Cell.
The investigation revealed a disturbing truth: Faith Rachel was distributing a special type of toffee at these parties, which was actually laced with psychotropic substances. The price of these toffees varied depending on the buyer’s status, and consuming them made the world appear vividly colorful to the user. These toffees contained mescaline, a powerful psychedelic substance.
DCP Amit Kaushik from the Special Cell explained that mescaline is a well-known party drug. In April 2024, the Delhi Police received intelligence about an international drug syndicate trafficking mescaline into Delhi and its surrounding areas. Over the next four months, the Special Cell meticulously tracked those involved in this drug network.
On August 14, 2024, the efforts culminated in a raid in Mehrauli, Delhi, where Faith Rachel was apprehended. A search of her trolley bag revealed 3.8 kg of high-quality mescaline, cleverly concealed within branded toffee packaging and fish products. The estimated value of the seized mescaline is around Rs 15 crore.
DCP Kaushik detailed that mescaline is a natural psychedelic derived from the peyote cactus in Mexico and the San Pedro cactus from Peru and Ecuador. It can be consumed in various forms, including powder, tablets, capsules, or liquid, and is known for its potent effects at parties.
