Girl commits suicide, sets herself on fire

A teenage girl allegedly committed suicide today by setting herself ablaze in her maternal grandfather's house in Kavinagar area of the district.

The 18-year-old, who hailed from Muzaffarnagar district, succumbed to injuries while being taken to a hospital in Delhi, police said, adding that she sustained 90 per cent burns.

Police also recovered a suicide note from her room, in which the girl said she regretted "some mistakes" of her life, and was committing suicide because of that, SHO (Kavinagar) Vinod Sirohi said.

The girl had come to Ghaziabad a few days ago.
