MALAPPURAM: The closing ceremony of the fifth edition of Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF) will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Power K C Venugopal on the MSP Ground here on Monday.Tourism Minister A P Anilkumar will preside over the function and Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb will draw the lots of the lucky dip. Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer will distribute the awards for the media. Actor Mohanlal will be the chief guest at the function.The fest, which began on December 1, ended on January 15 after 46 days. First and second prize winners of the lucky dip will receive one kilo and half-a-kilo of gold, respectively. The closing ceremony will also feature music, dance and other cultural performances by various artistes. M G Sreekumar, Mano, Roma and Navya Nair will attend the ceremony.The venue of the closing ceremony will have the capacity to hold more than 25,000 people. Entry will be limited to those possessing the free passes. KSRTC will hold special services to Tirur, Manjeri and Nilambur following the event.Malappuram district Police Superintendent K Sethuraman said traffic restrictions will be in place in the city on Monday. Vehicles carrying loads will be allowed to use only the bypass road.
