My MantraBasically, I do not consider myself to be a religious person. I am more spiritual than religious. People need to understand there is a difference between the both. I believe in Karma and destiny and that everything happens for a reason.Religion to me is ...I do believe in the existence of deities from the Hindu religion. But I am not the kind that diligently performs prayers everyday. Religion is something that we have created — for I believe that as long as one calls out to God, he will definitely answer.Experiences with GodThere have been times when I have prayed for something and out of the blue, my prayers were answered. I definitely do not believe that God is a myth. About five or six years ago, I had a unique spiritual experience when I was at the Brindavan gardens. These things have definitely changed the way I look at religion.Creating your own beliefs It isn’t about who you pray to or how, it just whether you do, or don’t. If you have found a way to connect to God, then nothing else matters. As long as your beliefs bring you peace of mind and make you feel closer to what you believe in, that becomes your religion.Talking religionIt’s a very touchy subject that creates a lot of controversy and misunderstandings. So I generally avoid discussing what I believe in. Everybody is entitled to their own faith and way of faith. The important thing is to believe.
