New Delhi: Nursery admissions this year could be a tough job considering the confusion over the Ganguly Committee recommendations on admissions.
The Delhi government says it's up to schools to frame admission criteria. In a report which will be placed before the Delhi High Court next week, the government says that children will not be interviewed.
However, schools should give preference to students from underprivileged sections of the society.
The government has plans to axe certain sections of the controversial Ashok Ganguly report — such as parents educational qualifications or whether either parent is an alumnus of the school.
The government is also thinking of doing away with the clause of the child having a sibling in the same school.
However, the government has agreed with the neighbourhood policy, according to which a child who lives close to the school will get preference in admission.
