Making the best of technology and human resource, a group of youngsters are gearing up to launch a novel initiative for the public to obtain the required groceries delivered at their doorstep with the click of a mouse.
Abin is one of the three masterminds of www.palaricharakku.com. The customers can make online orders on the web portal and the groceries will be dispatched to the customer’s address by the delivery boys, who are chosen from the various employment exchanges in the state. Currently, the project will be launched here.
“Many families in Kerala surprisingly don’t find the time to shop for their essential products, be it foodstuff or a toothbrush, because of the paucity of time.
The concept was born out of the lifestyle shift of Malayali and the large unemployment ratio,” says Abin.
In this project, the team will rope in at least a thousand delivery boys from all over Kerala in the next six months. The team is also working in coordination with the Kerala Social Security Mission to deliver the products.
“The initiative will help to bring down unemployment in the state. We are not demanding any particular qualification for those who are willing to join us and serve the customer. We will equip them with the essential delivery etiquette, making them presentable to the customer,” he added.
The products will be delivered between 6 pm and 9 pm. The customer is allowed to make orders from 10 am to 7 pm.
“There is no maximum order and a person can order anything he or she wants from any supermarket. However, the service charge will be `30 per delivery,” he said.
