Heat wave conditions on Sunday picked up in north-west Rajasthan with mercury touching 45.2 degree Celsius in hottest Barmer, a Met office report said.
Mercury has risen by 2 to 4 degree C at many places in western Rajasthan with dust storms affecting normal life. Meanwhile, Jalore recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degree C followed by Jodhpur 42, Kota 41.7, Jaisalmer 41.5, Bikaner 41.3, Chittorgarh 41, Churu 40.8, Ganganagar 40.6, and Jaipur 39.6 degree C.
However, light rainfall with thunder storm occurred at isolated places in Udaipur division. Heat wave conditions would further aggravate in north-west Rajasthan in the next 24 hours, according to the met office forecast.
