The money was distributed among all the 22 players and support staff.

Pune: Indian Olympic Association President Suresh Kalmadi on Monday handed over Rs 1 crore to hockey players and coaches at the training camp for the World Cup in Pune.

The cheque with varying individual payments was distributed among all the 22 players and support staff by Kalmadi and Hockey India adviser Anupam Gulati.

Kalmadi also revealed that he was yet to receive any letter of resignation by Hockey India President AK Mattoo.

Mattoo had said he was resigning from that post due the rebellion by men's national team hockey players over unpaid salaries and dues.

He claimed that he was "deeply hurt" by the allegations made against him during the recent crisis.

Mattoo also decided to resign from all the other administrative posts in various sport bodies. He was also the treasurer of the Indian Olympic Association and Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.

It is also believed that Mattoo had a rift with Kalmadi, after the latter intervened in the hockey players' rebellion last week.

The players had on January 8 refused to train at the camp insisting on advance payment of their dues from Hockey India.

After failure of their talks with Hockey India authorities, Kalmadi had successfully mediated to bring the players back on the field even as team sponsors Sahara India announced a release of Rs 1 crore for the striking players.
