Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been invited as the special guest for the inauguration ceremony that will be held at Dr Shama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium near Panaji.
Rajinikanth will be conferred with Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year.
Several Marathi and Malayalam films, including 'Yellow' and 'North 24 Kaatham', will be part of Indian Panorama section at IFFI 2014.

Paresh Mokashi's second Marathi film 'Elizabeth Ekadashi' has been selected as the opening film of the 10-day long filming extravaganza. His much-acclaimed debut 'Harishchandrachi Factory' was India's official entry to 2009 Oscars in best foreign language film category.
The jury, which is headed by renowned filmmaker from Odisha A K Bir, also includes five Bengali and two Hindi films besides one film each in Assamese, Kannada, Khasi, Odia and Tamil.
Actress Sheena Chohan took to Twitter to confirm that she will be hosting the event. "Happy to announce that I am selected to host the prestigious 45th International Film Festival of India, where @SrBachchan and Rajnikanth Sir are the chief guests (sic)," her tweet had read.
