Mumbai: The Interpol team investigating the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks reached Mumbai on Monday.
Interpol has already started the process of issuing Black Corner Notices for the nine Pakistani terrorists who were killed by security forces during the terror attacks.
Black Corner notices are issued for more information on the unclaimed bodies of foreign nationals.
Interpol Secretary General Ronald K Noble had on Saturday met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and offered all assistance in the investigations in Mumbai terror attacks.
Noble reportedly offered help in finding out the details of the all the 10 terrorists involved in the Mumbai terror attack by matching their names, fingerprints, DNA profiles and photographs with Interpol's global databases and also the member countries.
In addition to the ongoing support to the investigation, Interpol is offering to extend access to its global databases beyond the Interpol National Central Bureau in new Delhi to include police, immigration, border-control units and other law enforcement authorities, thus enabling officers to conduct real-time checks of databases on wanted persons, stolen and lost travel documents and other critical information related to terrorism.
Noble also said that apart from the Black Corner Notices, Interpol can also issue Blue Notices, which are used to obtain additional information, on all the terrorists.
Noble had on Friday met Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Ashwani Kumar.
