HASSAN: A wild elephant attacked three people near Kumbarageri village in Sakleshpur on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday a similar case occurred where a wild elephant trampled a plantation worker Vanajakshi to death near Yadakeri on Tuesday.The injured have been identified as Mallesh (48), Ramashetty (55) and Somaiah (50) of the same village.Ramashetty and Somaiah, who suffered minor injuries, have been admitted to Crawford hospital in Sakleshpur while grievously injured Malliah was shifted to a private hospital in Hassan.The trio were on their way to a coffee estate when the elephant chased and attacked them, the sources said.The female elephant which attacked the trio has reportedly strayed from a herd of 20 elephants stationed in a coffee estate near the village.
