THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader and Thiruvananthapuram Corporation councillor P Ashok Kumar has demanded that the four-laning of the Karamana-Kaliyikkavila stretch should be done at a width of 22 metres and limit the evacuation to the minimum. He was inaugurating a vehicle rally organised by the Karamana-Kaliyikkavila Bhoomi Parppida Samrakshana Samithi. “People’s representatives are meant to serve people. They must visualise problems from the angle of those who suffer. The evacuees should be given decent rehabilitation,” he added. The vehicle rally was conducted as a prelude to the Assembly march to be conducted on Tuesday. The rally was given welcome at Neeramankara, Kaimanam, Pappanamcode, Thulavila, Karaikkamandapam, Vellayanimukku, Nemom, Pravachambalam, Pallichal, Paaroorkkuzhi, Vedivechankovil, Mudavoorppara, Paruthimadom, Kodinada, Balaramapuram Junction, Thaikkappalli and Vazhimukku. Bhoomi Parppida Samrakshana Co-ordination Committee general convenor Benny Joseph was the captain of the rally. Shammem, Chakrapani, Viswanathan Nair, Saboora Beevi, Pappanamcode Rajappan, Karumam Sasikumar, Asokan Kunnunkal, Glady Verghese, Shajarkhan, Shameem A K B, Sajad, I Sadhique, Vasudevan, Shamsudeen, Dr P Nazeer, Kallambalam Anilkumar and Ratnakaran led the rally.
