Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a roadshow in his constituency Varanasi, from where he is contesting the Lok Sabha elections, amid the fourth phase of polling across India. He will be filing his nomination from the seat in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday (May 14). Taking to X, the prime minister said Kashi is “special” because of the “unbelievable” warmth and affection of the people.

Prime Minister Modi is seeking a third consecutive term from Varanasi, which will go to polls on June 1 in the seventh and final phase. He paid tribute to Hindu Mahasabha founder Madan Mohan Malaviya’s statue, ahead of his roadshow. He was accompanied by chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

The roadshow started from Malviya Chauraha in Lanka to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham. It will be passing through Sant Ravidas Gate, Assi, Shivala, Sonarpura, Jangambadi, Godaulia. According to BJP sources, the PM will be staying the night at the BLW guesthouse.
He will reach the guesthouse from Vishwanath Dham after his convoy is passes through Maidagin Chauraha, Kabirchaura, Lahurabir, Teliabagh Tiraha, Chowkaghat Chauraha, Lakdi Mandi, Cantt Overbridge, Lahartara Chauraha, Manduwadih Chauraha and Kakarmatta Overbridge areas.
Office-bearers of the BJP said people from different communities, including Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Maheshwari, Marwari, Tamil and Punjabi, welcomed PM Modi at 100 points in 11 zones during the roadshow. He was welcomed with the blowing of conches and beats of dhols and ‘damrus’.

Cutouts of famous people of Kashi have been installed along the route of the roadshow. Modi will also go to seek the blessings from Baba Vishwanath, while sources said he will also be taking a dip in the Ganga.
